Foodwaste reduction

We invest for reducing wastes and food losses in our beverage manufacturing.

We act responsible with our resources. In the manufacturing of soft drinks and syrups, a residual amount of sugar remains often in our manufacturing pipes and containers. Not to waste these precious comestibles, we integrated a pigging technique in our production lines. Therewith our beverages are better transported through the lines and less sugar remains in the rinsing water.

But also with waste we act responsible. Together with the wastewater treatment in Bieudron, residuals in our rinsing water (mainly sugar) are cleaned with bio filters and as sewage sludge fermented into biogas. With our rinsing water, we can thus produce around 170’000 kWh of electricity annually.
