On average, water accounts for 60% of our weight. We release and absorb water. This water is replaced every 6 weeks, mainly by the water that we drink.
Every day, we lose around 2.5 to 3 litres of water. This loss needs to be compensated for. Food contributes to this, with the amount of approx. 1 litre per day. The human body creates around 0.4 litres of water a day. So that the sums add up, it is recommended that you drink 1.5 litres of water every day.
You need to anticipate your thirst. If you feel thirsty, it means that your body has already started to dehydrate. That is why you should always have a bottle of water within easy reach, particularly with strenuous tasks.
