General questions

What characterises a natural mineral water?

A water first has to earn the quality label ‘natural mineral water’. Not every water can claim this noble title for itself.

In order to be able to carry this label, the water first has to undergo numerous checks. Its mineral content and its exit temperature need to be constant. These parameters have to be checked with scientifically recognized procedures.

A natural mineral water is therefore a microbiologically impeccable water that originates from a natural spring. It must be characterised by the following features:

  • Its special geological origin
  • The type and quantity of its mineral elements
  • Its original pureness

A natural mineral water contains trace elements and nutrients that are essential for our health.

What is the difference between a natural mineral water and a spring water?
  • A spring water does not have to have a constant chemical composition.
  • A natural mineral water needs to have a constant chemical composition over a course of time (in particular during a complete water cycle of around 1 year).
  • A spring water does not have to have a constant exit temperature.
  • A natural mineral water needs to have a constant exit temperature over the course of time.

As a result, the taste and mineral content of a spring water can vary considerably.

General questions

Why is water so important for the human body?

On average, water accounts for 60% of our weight. We release and absorb water. This water is replaced every 6 weeks, mainly by the water that we drink.

Every day, we lose around 2.5 to 3 litres of water. This loss needs to be compensated for. Food contributes to this, with the amount of approx. 1 litre per day. The human body creates around 0.4 litres of water a day. So that the sums add up, it is recommended that you drink 1.5 litres of water every day.

You need to anticipate your thirst. If you feel thirsty, it means that your body has already started to dehydrate. That is why you should always have a bottle of water within easy reach, particularly with strenuous tasks.
